Apple Orchard

Doing a little catch-up journaling here...

In October, we grabbed some friends and visited County Line Orchard in Indiana. I think we went a little later in the season because most of the apples had already been picked or fallen, but the apples aren't the reason we go anyway. There's a petting zoo, a pumpkin patch, tractor rides, a bee hut, and a divine smelling barn full of gift-shoppy items and the most delicious fresh donuts! Pumpkin and apple spice. So heavenly! A half dozen of those babies makes the hour+ car trip totally worth it.

A quick stop at BK on the way to fuel up the munchkin.
He was really excited.

Apple picking turned into apple kicking this year.
Still fun for my boys.

Giant squash weapons

A bunch of cute baby pigs in a pen with the straw, stick, and brick homes of the Three Little Pigs themselves. Please note the adorable hand holding going on between my son and his lady.

Fun and hokey photo ops

Tractors of all sizes

Excellent company

Wild hog rides! Just kidding. Although I would love to see my boy wrestle a real stinky little pig. He'd put up a good fight.

We got to see where the baby chicks hatch.

We rode around the whole orchard about three times on this giant tractor thing. It was a nice way to rest before loading up on donuts.

Tickling the sugar out of Josh before the car ride home.

It was a lovely, warm day in the country. The next day, I discovered that Josh could reach things high up on the counter when I found him sitting on the kitchen floor quietly scarfing a whole apple cinnamon donut before bedtime. What a sneak! That's how you know they're good.
