MBA Graduation

On June 11, 2011,
Matt graduated with his
Masters in Business Administration
from the
University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

This picture illustrates the general feeling of that glorious day.

Graduation festivities started out a couple weeks beforehand with a big fancy party at the business school. Even though we and our Mo friends were pretty much the only ones there who weren't totally sloshed, it was such a fun excuse to get babysitters and dress up all fancy-like!

The ceremony was held at McCormick Place. We got there just before it started, in time to get excellent seats in the nosebleed section. Matt's wonderful parents flew in from Arizona to be there.

Don't you feel lucky that you get to see pictures of me nursing everywhere?

The big moment shaking Dean Kumar's hand. I was lucky to get this picture because RIGHT as I was aiming my camera for the classic graduation shot, after waiting about 45 minutes for Matt's name to be called, three ladies walked right in front of me. Doesn't seem like a good reason to cry and throw a tantrum, but I came pretty close.

Matt's proud parents and proud woman.

Besties. These people are our family out here.

Matt takes the ceremonial graduation robes very seriously. His high school mascot was actually the "padre", and all his old school T-shirts looked like this guy.

The weekend after graduation, after all the families had left town, we went down to the beautiful U of C campus and our lovely friend Carina took some great pictures of the guys in their robes. Enjoy Matt's model shots!

We are all so proud of little Matty.
