Remember Josh's first pets a couple summers ago? Didn't turn out so well. We're hoping this one lasts at least a few days.
Yesterday Josh and his friends caught a bunch of butterflies in their yard. They gave him this nice roomy container to take it home and told us to feed it fruit and flowers.
It does not seem very happy to be stuck in a box, but Josh will have no talk of setting it free. He prefers to vigorously shake the container around and knock on the sides to try to make it move.
Oh, and when I asked what he would call the butterfly, he immediately thought of the name "Trophy". Can't wait to hear what he has in mind for his little brothers/sisters someday.
-----------------------
Update 26 minutes later: We set Trophy free! He was going crazy, fluttering into the walls of the container, waiting with his orange inner wings spread and ready to skedaddle the second the lid opened. I'm glad Josh had a change of heart.

Whew! Sigh of relief for Trophy.
